In case you didn't get the announcement, there you go.
Something happened to our four year old little girl when she started preschool this year. She began to get dressed "all by herself".
I don't mean, she puts her clothes on without any help...that would be too easy. What I mean is, you never know what you're going to find when she gets ready for school.
One day she'll come out of her room in a skirt with pants under it, wearing a bathing suit top. The next day she'll have a sweater with stripes and a shirt with dots.
I sometimes wonder if she secretly watches old episodes of "Punky Brewster" for her latest fashion trends.
Needless to say, when she woke up this morning and announced, "It's PICTURE DAY!" I became a little nervous. It was hard to imagine what concoction she'd come with for such a special occasion.
As the six of us ran around the house getting ready for work and school, she cheered when she was ready. Preparing myself for the war of "what not to wear", I knew that I had to go into her room with a firm stance. It's one thing to wear something crazy and fun but it's entirely different when it's for a class picture.
I walked in, to find her wearing this...
So, if you happen to see a random preschool class picture some day with a group of cute four year olds and one little girl straight out of a royal ball, you'll know which one is which.
...Lord knows at least she wasn't in her bathing suit.
