had sword fights with sticks. My neighbor often laughs saying that in one day alone, these kids provide enough to write an entire blog... I thought about this and decided to begin with today. It's as good as any, and the first entry can be titled: "Water Slide in the Kitchen" as it has come to be known. As a mother of four young children, one of the first things you learn is that bathing is a luxury. If you are brave enough to take an actual shower, you never really know what state the house will be in when you're done. In today's case, our two middle boys ages four and six, decided to create a real life water slide straight through the kitchen. Our four year old discovered that if you pushed and held in the water lever on the refrigerator door, a "magic fountain" came out. Much to his older brother's delight as the water began to pool across the floor, he decided that the only logical thing to do would be to go down to a pair of shorts and take a running start straight for the expanding pond. As I got out of the shower and quietly stood at the top of the stairs to listen for an audible "head count" of the four kids, the sound of giggling followed by a running slide was new and different. I flew down the stairs only to find four children standing in line while one after the other, in nothing but their skivvies, slid across the entire kitchen floor. Needless to say, It's days like these that people say, "Oh enjoy it while they're young!"
