There have always been a thousand excuses why NOT to get a dog.
"We'll be tied down to it...it will destroy our house...we have four kids, we have four kids, we have four kids." You get my point.
That's just it though. As ridiculously crazy as our house already is, I can't help but think that we might as well throw a puppy into the mix since we can't remember what it feels like to have quiet and peace. Why would we wait until the kids are grown and gone to start all over again?
The biggest reason though, is that I want the kids to grow up with a family dog. They can love it and play with it as they grow and learn to take care of something other than themselves. I've been trying to talk Adam into this theory since before our youngest was born and she's almost five now. Adam has always been the voice of reason in our marriage though -
and I'm, well - not.
So. As luck would have it, a woman contacted me yesterday saying that she was about to have some puppies which will be ready to go home in March. Guess who has a birthday in March? Yep, this girl.
I'll cross my fingers and try to sweet talk Adam into finally taking the leap, but if history repeats itself, we'll be dog-less for another year. Can't wait to see how it goes!
