It's actually been quite nice on these hot summer days to throw everything in the crock pot early in the morning to have dinner all ready later that night.
There's been no standing over a hot stove or baking in the oven after a long day. I've tried a few different meals but here's been the family's favorite recipe so far...
Roast
(insert 'oooooo...ahhhh' here)
1 four to five pound beef roast
1 package of baby carrot
4-5 potatoes cut into bite sized pieces (peeled or unpeeled)
1 onion, quartered
1 (1 1/4 ounce packet) of dry ranch dressing mix
1 (1 1/4 ounce packet) of dry brown gravy mix
1 (1 1/4 ounce packet) of dry Italian salad dressing mix
1/2 cup water
Pour the water in the crock pot then place the beef, carrots, potatoes and onion in.
Combine the dry ingredients (ranch, Italian and brown gravy mixes) in a bowl together then sprinkle over the meat and vegetables in the crock pot.
Cover with lid and set on low for 8 to 10 hours.
Uncover and Enjoy!
