Another thing about our hometown is that people are happy when someone does well. There is a feeling of pride and love for each other.
Good news travels fast, too. I just recently found out that a woman from home, named Gina McKnight, has written a children's book. She actually wrote and has a real and true book published. That's very cool. I was able to get her book and it is stunning. I read it to our kids and they were taken with the colors and the story. It's beautifully done. It's called "The Blackberry Patch" and it's about a girl's journey that takes you with her in search of sweet blackberries. The pictures and colors are vibrant and the book as a whole is wonderful.
Gina does an excellent job in encouraging children to use their minds and imaginations to hear the sounds, smell the scents and best of all, taste the tastes in her delicious adventure. It was a true joy to read.
Congratulations on your book, Gina! We are all so happy for you and excited for your future writings and success! Please keep us posted on upcoming works.
